A BRIEF HISTORY OF KYK CRC-N
Preamble
It is good to sing praises to God. So pleasant to praise Him, when praise goes up, blessings comes down. It is the thirst for praise that motivates us to search for ways to praise God in African way.
Kungiyar Yan Kristi (KYK) has been an old fellowship group in the church particularly the Christian Reformed Church- Nigeria (CRC-N)
Today, Kungiyar Yan Kristi (KYK) has reached a landmark of not just teaching and learning of memory verses but of winning souls through music in the African way using local drums and other traditionally made instruments.
Kungiyar Yan Kristi (KYK) Particularly makes people feel at home from the cultural perspective. It allows for free expression of self in dance and worship to God as the melody and rhythm is spirit lifting.
Kungiyar Yan Kristi (KYK) has groomed so many members who are Deacons, elders and pastors presently serving in different places based on their callings in the church of God.
HISTORY
it's footing is on the basis of evangelism through the missionaries as far back as 1960 with proverbs 22:6 as it's guide, I quote "Train up a child in the way he should go and even when he is old, he will not turn away from it.

To praise God in traditional way.
We also ensure as our objective that:-

2 . To have fellowship with other subgroup within and outside the church (Denomination)
3. We might partake in the Blessings of doing the work of God.
MEMBERSHIP
By the grace of God, the group has a numerical strenght of over 3000 members spread across the 19 Regional Church Councils.
SPIRITUAL IMPACT
God has been blessing members in various ways particularly our spiritual lives. Bible studies during rehearsal is a priority, inviting men of God within and outside the church to preach and teach during our conferences has really impacted positively as Reformation, repentance and change in lifestyle are being observed among members.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the group needs prayers as majority of the members are youths, that we might not fall prey of this perverse generation.
Also the leadership of the group from the LCC to the national needs needs prayers for grace, wisdom to lead.
